Yo Gabba Gabba Party Time!

The date of the party was August 18. It was sooooo humid and pretty darn hot. We had the party in the morning from 8-10 a.m. to take advantage of the "cooler" weather and have breakfast with our friends. We invited all of families in our ward who have kids born the same year as Preston. We also had also had a lot of family and other friends there as well! It was really fun!
I gave everyone a YGG shirt transfer that they could put on any old shirt for the party.
My dad was Preston's buddy during the party.

So many good families and friends!

Preston got super scared when everyone sang him happy birthday! It was also really close to nap time for him too! AND he had a cold earlier that week that really messed him up.

The sad boy cheered up a little when we opened gifts. His favorites were the books!

Another cry fest! Poor guy needed his 9 a.m. nap sooo bad!

I like how you can see the sweat running down my face. So sticky. And Preston was about to pass out!
My mom on the left with her good friend Stacie. So funny!

Up next is the splash pad portion of the party. We really know how to have a good time!

Yo Gabba Gabba Party Setup!

I had SOOOOO much fun planning and making things for Preston's Yo Gabba Gabba birthday party! I probably went a little overboard, but I saw this as a celebration of my year of hard work raising a baby! Preston's absolute favorite thing in the whole world is Yo Gabba Gabba. It's the only show he'll watch and the only thing that grabs his attention when he's cranky.
The balloons had character faces made of construction paper.
 YGG themed drinks!
Brobee watermelon, Plex Mix, and Rainbow Connection cookies.
Brobee bagels, Muno muffins, Toodee Trix!
 The full setup!
My mom and sis-in-law Dani made this cute YGG characters with missing faces for pictures!
Baby Preston and Gpa Preston enjoying the view!

August 8th- Preston's Birthday!

On Preston's birthday, we kept it pretty mellow. He had a birthday party a week later, so we celebrated on the actual day by letting him wear his new Yo Gabba Gabba shirt and having cupcakes after dinner.

I got most of the cupcake eating on video instead of pictures. There was a candle that he tried to touch numerous times. I blew it out for him after we sang "Happy Birthday" and then took the wrapper off the cupcake.
I set it in front of him and he kind of dipped his fingers in the frosting and got a taste. Once he'd had a taste, there was no stopping him! He picked the whole thing up and tried to put it in his mouth.
When it wouldn't fit in his mouth, he ripped it in half and squished it between his fingers. He got a pretty good bite and then rubbed the squished cake all over his chest!
He kept squishing it between his fingers while trying to swallow. The big bite of cake was kind of sticky and dry so he kept making sucking sounds trying to get it down! So funny!
I think this was the tastiest, sugariest thing he had ever eaten!
A little water to help wash it down.
He dropped quite a bit of cake down in his seat, so I fished it out for him to finish.
Happy Birthday to my sweet boy, Preston Trent! HOORAY! We made it a whole year!

First Spaghetti- August 6th!

Preston LOVES spaghetti. He sure is an awesome eater.

Epic Tucson Trip Part 5 (Last Part!)

Our last day in Tucson, we checked out of our hotel and went to the The Mini Time Machine Museum of Miniatures. I could have stayed there all day! It was really cool to see all of the doll houses and figurines. I didn't take many pictures. Preston absolutely hated it because everything was too small to really get his attention. He kind of liked the Christmas village in the floor underneath him though.

After the museum, we had lunch at Carl's Jr. and drove home! I think I am all Tucson-ed out for a long time!

Epic Tucson Trip Part 4

On Saturday, Aug. 4, we attended the wedding of Michael's cousin, Matthew. Matthew is Catholic, so I got to attend my first Catholic Mass. It was interesting and I'm so glad we got to go. The wedding was at a monastery in St. David, AZ.

 Isn't it pretty?
Preston was so cute the whole time. He still wasn't walking even though he was just a few days shy of a year old.
This precious boy totally conked out on his Grandpa Trent. He slept for a good hour like this!
We were all a little tired and looked forward to getting out of our church clothes after the wedding and reception.
Since we were sooooo close to Tombstone, AZ we decided to shoot down there and see the sights. Michael's parents and brothers tagged along too. Our first stop was this cool, old cemetery. We really lucked out because the weather took a great turn. It got cloudy, breezy and a LOT cooler.

Then we walked around Tombstone and went into all of the shops and this awesome saloon.
This was a super long day, but we had a ton of fun! We completely crashed at our hotel that night.
