Happy Medornio (Memorial) Day!

On Preston's first Memorial Day (May 28th), we went to the ward Memorial Day breakfast. Dad had flag duty with the scouts, so Preston sat patiently (and happily, I might add) waiting for dad at 7 a.m. before Michael picked us up. The breakfast was fun! Preston loved the pancakes. We invited Michael's parents and brothers to come along too.
Later that evening, we got together for a barbecue with Michael's family to celebrate Gpa Trent's birthday (which wasn't until the next day).

Preston spent the time cheesin' with Aunt Melissa and Uncle Blake.
Then we hung out at the table waiting for the food to cook.
Don't these fellas look alike? Must be BROTHERS!
 Just hanging out...
You can tell we are a lively bunch.
Love my chunky boy! Preston is absolutely solid. You can't feel this kid's ribs. He must have got that from his momma.
Happy Birthday Gpa Trent! 51 years young!
Uncle Malachi had a great day apparently.
Preston was sick of the serious discussion I was having.
So I livened things up a bit.
Aunt Miriam and Uncle Bryce showed up just as we were leaving, so we decided to snap a few Reynolds Family pictures.
 It was definitely someone's bedtime.

The End.

In the Merry Month of May

May was very merry because of all of the sleep we were getting around here. Love it! This kid sleeps 12 hours with one waking to eat around 3 a.m. I have been waiting his whole life to get this kind of sleep! Some fun things that happened in the middle of May:

Preston had his first cheese and absolutely loved it. I will put an assortment of food in front of him and he will pick out all of the cheese chunks first. It's pretty hilarious. Definitely takes after his daddy with the cheese-loving.
Preston sat up for the first time all by himself on Mothers Day while were we having dinner at Gma and Gpa Reynolds' house. Happy Mothers Day to me! I didn't get any pictures with my son on my first Mothers Day. How lame is that? I feel really stupid. It wasn't that great of a day anyway, so oh well!
We did a lot of swimming in May. It was awesome. Too bad Daddy isn't much of a fan!
Preston LOVES his monster truck from Gpa Preston. He loves anything with wheels. He will flick and roll the wheels over and over again. Pretty cute! I think my dad is thrilled that he likes trucks and cars so much.
Preston pretty much always gives me a cheesy grin when I pull out my camera nowadays. He's hilarious. He also started to sit-up full time around the middle of the month.
We attended uncle Malachi's high school graduation on May 24th. Preston was up until 10 p.m. He was soooo good, but we had had it by the end of the ceremony. It was really windy and the speakers were deafening. We couldn't stay to take pictures afterward. Congratulations Malachi!
We started hitting up the splash pad at Espee Park a lot. Preston loves to sit in the middle of everything and get splashed a little. He's so cute in his swimsuit. On May 25th, we were met by Max, Malachi, Gpa Pam and Gpa Trent at the splash pad. Preston did some swinging as well!
Preston is a pro at saying "dada" but we haven't gotten a "mama" out of him yet. He screeches and squeals and gives everyone a huge grin. Then he starts wiggling and shaking his head. That's pretty much his reaction to anything new and exciting. He also "dances" to music. His love for Yo Gabba Gabba is infinite. We watch the first 2 seasons on Netflix over and over. I have every song memorized!

Preston loves music. He likes to sit in his high chair while I perform various songs and arias for him in foreign languages. It's fun to have an audience!

Michael and I spoke in church on May 27th. That was crazy because I had to leave sacrament meeting like right after I spoke because Preston was cranky. He usually only makes it until 9:15 or so. (Did I mention that church starts at 8:30? YUCK!) He usually takes a 20-30 minute nap in the mothers lounge while I nurse him.

We are still nursing regularly. In the morning when he wakes up, before each of his two naps, before bed time, and once when he wakes up at 3:00 a.m. I have never had to buy formula! Hooray!

Love, love, love my big little man!

9 Months Old on May 8th!!!

In a few short months Preston will be one! Yikes. At his 9-month doctor appointment he was 22 lbs. 6 oz. and 28 3/4" long. His head was 18 3/4" around. His growth slowed down a little and he's now at the 75th percentile. Still a monster! And NOT so fun to carry around. He started sleeping through the night almost to the day of his 9-month birthday. He still wakes up once a night occasionally, but luckily he goes to back to sleep after nursing.
On Preston's 9-month birthday, we decided to go swimming. We usually go in the evening and hide from the sun behind a building near the pool. We are such whiteys! haha.
Preston LOVES his pool float. Sometimes he will just lay back and relax, but most of the time, he tries to drink the water. GROSS.
The weather has been hot HOT HOT! Perfect for swimming. The pool water tastes good too, apparently.
The pool float is cool because of the mesh. Preston can still splash around and, more importantly, take a sip.
Having the time of his life!
 One more pool drinking attempt!
Preston is sure getting a little personality. He is almost always happy, especially in public. He's bubbly, bouncy, and full of energy. He just draws people to him! He now likes to look at books instead of chew on them. He can now hold a bottle on his own and just had his first chicken chunks. He is the best! Literally. =)

Mas Cinco de Mayo!

Our friend Dan just graduated from ASU and invited us to his graduation party at a nearby park. The weather was windy but nice so we took the opportunity to be outside and went to the party.
Preston is so in love with Cheerios. He also loves to shake the container and make it rattle.
 Handsome blue-eyed boy!
 Just chilling with dad!
First time in a swing. Not quite sure what to do...
 Starting to like it...
Mom might be having a better time than Preston!
Something must be funny?
The front of the swing was disgusting, but it didn't keep Preston from giving it a taste. GROSS!
I think he finally liked the swing! Yay! Maybe it was just the taste though...
Not quite ready for the slide yet. Maybe in a couple of months!
Check out the chunky legs! We had to go home soon after this because SOMEBODY was getting sleepy.

Baby Burrito! Happy Cinco de Mayo!

I found Preston completely rolled up in the blanket and ran to get the camera to document it. This kid can sure roll!
Unfortunately, (or fortunately, in his case) he unrolled quickly and I missed my chance. I love his little bum cheeks! haha.
This is typically what we do in the morning... hang out and eat.
Preston LOVES cheerios and apple juice. Happy Boy! He's always twirling his fingers and toes, as you can kind of tell from this picture.

May 2, 2012--Getting Around!

Not much to say about these pictures except that Preston is REALLY getting around now. He does these crazy acrobatic pushups. He still wasn't sitting himself up yet at this point.
Preston loves to look at the dogs. They come and sniff his face and he makes this hilarious sputtering noise while he closes his eyes. Almost like a voluntary sneeze.
Hammin' it up for the camera.
We started trying a ton of new solid foods this month. On this day, he actually fed himself Cheerios for the first time. He was pretty proud of himself. He also had a graham cracker this week and it pretty much rocked his world. (Those things are darn messy too!)
We went swimming with Daddy for the first time this week and there were 6 baby ducks and their momma in the pool. Too bad we didn't bring a camera!
On May 5, Preston started sleeping 9-10 hours a night. He did that like 6 days in a row! Happy Cinco de Mayo to me! I was in heaven. He occasionally has nights where he wakes up, but I think he's officially "sleeping through the night." He really sleeps more like 12 hours (6:30-6:30) with one feeding around 3 or 4 a.m. And I am fine with that as long as he goes back to sleep after!
 Still loves television...
Prefers to lay on the wood floor... Maybe he can get more traction?
Preston still does an army crawl to get around. He pretty much pulls himself around with his arms and then uses his toes to propel himself forward.
His bum was wayyyy up in the air. I tried to catch a picture of it before he laid back down.
 Purple eyes!
 Showing off his muscles.
I love this crazy boy!!!
