First Time "Swimming"

While our friends were in town, we decided take advantage of the warm weather and go swimming in our community pool. We had to wait a bit for everyone to get ready, so I fed Preston right before, thinking that the pool would wash some of the food off! HA! Silly me.
The pool water was pretty darn cold and I didn't have the heart to dunk Preston in very far. So the food stayed on his face.
Michael was at work while we went to the pool so I stole some pictures from Fa and Cristin's camera! Chilly water!
Yay! A picture with me in it! haha. I'm hiding my whiteness behind cute Preston.
Preston seemed to get used to the water. We didn't go further in than chest-deep.
Haven got dunked, but I didn't feel like Preston was ready for that yet!
Juuuuuust chillin'. He actually kept his sunglasses on once he realized that they helped his eyes. Preston HATES the sun in his eyes.
We got back into the water to try another dip, and it was way easier than the first time. I think Preston will really love the pool this summer when it gets a little warmer.

We did more "laying out" than swimming. Don't worry, the SPF 60 was in full use. Look at those chunky thighs!
We bought this wetsuit thingy Preston a few weeks before Preston was born (on clearance OF COURSE! haha). It's 12 month size and you can see that it's pretty tight already. I didn't think I would have such a huge kid. I'm sure it won't fit once "real summer" gets here. It's only April for goodness' sake!
Love his dirty baby face and his chunky chin.
This kid LOVES to be outside. He's a pro at pushing up now.
I couldn't keep him on the towel for long. He loved rolling around on the deck of the pool.

Friends From California

Fa, Cristin, and Haven came to visit us from California during their Spring Break. We had lots of adventures with them while they were here. These pictures of Haven and Preston are soooo cute! They've grown so much since the first time they saw eachother!
Drooling and hanging out. Haven really liked all of our toys!
Preston still doesn't quite know what to think about Haven. Right before nap time when Preston was really sleepy, Haven would squeal or touch him and make Preston cry. It was the funniest thing ever! Preston is just not used to kids! Poor baby. =)

General Conference

For those of you who might not know, the LDS church has a biannual general conference broadcast from Salt Lake City in April and October. I love when church is on TV! haha.

Here's the good daddy, Michael, holding our Asian baby. I guess the flash was a little too much for him.
Showing off what's left of his bald spot while MoTab is singing. Yes, we eat our breakfast at the coffee table in the living room.
Obviously, I was taking "church in my pajamas" literally. I LOVE Preston's cheesy grin.
Purple eyes!
Now dad is cheesin' it.
Look how righteous my son is! He loves conference and he's not even a year old yet.......
JUUUUUUST KIDDING! It's Yo Gabba Gabba. Haha. This was during the week after conference. See his practicing sitting? I really wish he'd start sitting on his own soon. He pretty much hates bending in the middle though. He always has.
Conference was as great as it always is! It's so nice to spend time at home with my little family and take a break from our Sunday callings. WE LOVE CONFERENCE!

March Happenings--7 Months!

I think this was the last time Preston wore his church shirt that he got for Christmas from his Smith Grandparents. My baby is getting so big! You can tell that the arms are a little short. I'm digging his side part in this picture. haha. His hair naturally goes to the right, I just help it a little bit.

Also, he's always loved that fishy teething ring since we bought that play mat for him in October.
Preston loves him some Yo Gabba Gabba. We aren't the only folks who watch Netflix on Sunday are we? It is so bizarre that he likes this show. He pretty much can't look away if it's on. Lately I've been propping him up with his Boppy to watch it so he gets practice sitting. The show distracts him so much that he will sit for 10 minutes at a time!
There was a lot of teething that happened in March. Preston got both of his bottom teeth within a week of eachother. These are Michael's attempts to get a good picture of his teeth.
It is ridiculously hard to get Preston to show us his teeth. They don't show very much when he smiles, and he only opens for food!
Dad's fingers are NASTY! BLEH!
Success! I think this was the last time he wore these Christmas jammies from his Grandparents Reynolds. It's too hot for fleece, now!
One more good shot. Mom is better at the closeups.
Trying to escape into the kitchen! At this point, our dogs are pretty scared of Preston. They run outside whenever we have him in the kitchen.
We went to Cosmo Dog Park in Gilbert on March 23. Preston has been a few times, but this is the first time where he could actually sit up and look around. It was stinking hot that day. Upper 80s! I had to change Preston out of his jammies into the extra onesie that I brought because he was sweating up a storm. Also... he had a GIGANTIC poopy diaper while we were there. Meh. I hope people don't eat off of the picnic table I changed him on.
I am pretty excited that Preston's bald spot in the back is starting to fill in. Sitting up and tummy time sure help with the hair situation!
There is some pure joy happening in this picture. Too bad Michael is wearing a wicked shirt. haha. The little girl was cute and just wanted to pet our pups. And our dog, Daisy, is clearly having the time of her life. Michael taught her to walk on that wall behind him. Genius.
Cute Michael and cute Daisy!
Preston is notorious for throwing his weight around. He pretty much kills everybody who holds him. He loves to launch himself backwards out of your arms or swivel around to look at things OR just hang upside down. I will probably have back problems until he starts walking.
In these pics, he threw his weight around on his play mat and toppled the whole thing over. He actually really likes to play in it this way. It's sort of like a little fort.
His chunky thighs and double chin just slay me! AHHHH! I can't get enough of him. Actually, that's a lie. He's getting to be so active that I get plenty of him throughout the day and look forward to Daddy time when Michael gets home.

March was fun! Preston is/was a pretty awesome 7 month-old.

The End of the California Trip

We spent the rest of our time in California just hanging out and relaxing. Preston had a cold and was cutting teeth, so that was fun and I was exhausted with his getting up every 3 hours!!!

Watching television, Preston-style.

Preston had a few rare moments of happiness when his gums weren't hurting him. I love this picture of my Grandma Luena kissing Preston. CUTE!
These pictures of my mom and Preston are hilarious. She was trying to copy all of the positions he got into. My mom is so funny! haha.

Preston loved this little remote control my mom let him play with!
This is in the morning right before I flew home. An actual picture of me! WHOA!
This is how we roll... haha.
The flight home was not as smooth as the flight out. Preston didn't sleep a wink and I had to distract him the whole time! At least there was an empty seat in between us. I had to nurse him a few times to help with his ears too. Crazy kid. Thank goodness for the pretzel bag that they gave me. He had the best time chewing and crunching that bag! We made it home and were soooo happy to see Daddy and go to bed! That night was really rough and church was a nightmare the next day, but we still enjoyed our trip nonetheless!!!

Happy Birthday, Stephanie!

Now I'm a month behind on posts. Argh!

After Preston's first beach trip, we met up with the McLaughlins and GGpa Harry at Johnny's Burritos in Ventura to celebrate Stephanie's 20th birthday. We've been going to Johnny's for as long as I can remember and it is SOOOOOOO good.

Here's the birthday girl in all her birthday glory. Her birthday was on March 1st. She laments the fact that she can't get "teen pregnant" anymore because she's 20 now. LOL! Stephanie is way funny and my favorite sister (by default! haha). She's 5'10", brown hair, blue eyes, loves dancing, singing, music, and enjoys walks on the beach. She's single and needs to get married soon. JJJJJJK!
I was sitting across from her, taking all of these pictures. That's why there are none of me!
Here's GGpa Harry and his son, Uncle Sean.
This kid is not a fan of peas. Especially when cousin Kelsey is trying to feed him.
Grandma Stacey holding Preston while Kelsey tries to get Preston to eat some more.
Here's Grandpa Preston having a good time.
Uncle Jackson and the newly 18 year-old cousin Evan. Can you tell how cool Evan is in this picture? ha. Too cool for school!
Aunt Shelley was sitting RIIIIGHT behind me, so it was hard to get a good angle, but she still rocked the picture. And my mom is cheesin' it in the background with the babe.

A good time was had by all! Happy birthday, Stephanie!
